Don first gained national attention when his exploits as a young defense attorney with the U.S. Navy JAG Corp became the basis for the motion picture "A Few Good Men." Since 1985, Don has been fighting for injured people throughout North Carolina and Virginia. His skill in the courtroom has led to his selection to the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Board of Governors and the Ethics & Professionalism Committee. He is an active member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum*, the National Register's Who's Who In Executives and Professionals and a sought after lecturer at law schools and bar associations across the country. Don also serves as a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers Education Committee and is an active member of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia and the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice Foundation.
